The BPF Hosted Its 86th Annual Dinner This Month
Tuesday, 22 October 2019
The BPF hosted its 86th Annual Dinner this month, bringing over 500 industry professionals together to celebrate the plastics industry. The ceremony was again held at the Nine Kings Suite - Royal Lancaster London Hotel, and was presented by political advisor turned comedian and TV & radio host, Matt Forde (who had the crowd in hysterics). It also featured music from Jazz A La Mode.
This members-only event is the most highly anticipated event of the year across the plastics industry, packed with endless opportunities to network with suppliers, customers and peers, the event overall was a great success.
Philip Law, Director General of the BPF, opened the gala on a high note with words of encouragement: “the annual turnover of the industry has now reached £27.5bn and we employ a magnificent 180,000 people who do a fantastic job”, before handing out awards.
Congratulations to David Hall, the winner of the BPF Gold Medal Award. David, the British Plastics Federation commends your hard work and lengths of service.
Another highlight of the evening was the speech by the BPF’s President, Martin Althorpe, who made his debut, giving a speech on “positivity and engagement”. He stated: “we are changing our industry and responding positively to new requirements whilst at the same time being advocates of the science underpinning our materials, products and issues.”
Also, a special mention to our 2019 sponsors: LG Energy, Engel, Berry formally RPC, Sharpak, Interplas, Plastribution, Isocool, RJG, K2019, GovGrant, Listgrove, Siemens Financial Services, Arburg, and BPF Energy.
It’s always a privilege to unite the industry for a night of fine dining, and an absolute honour to use it as a means for putting our members’ businesses on a platform. We hope to see you again next year, on 15th October 2020 – we are currently 'fl-haunting' our Halloween discounts per table. Check them out here…
