The Vitamin Postal Pack Wins the Horners Bottlemakers Award 2010

The revolutionary and environmentally friendly Vitamin Postal Pack has been announced as the winner of the Horners Bottlemakers Award for 2010. This worthy winning entry was made by RPC. RPC Containers Ltd, Market Rasen

The Vitamin Postal Pack was designed to fit through most post boxes allowing easy and convenient delivery of vitamin pills.

The design reduces any concerns when ordering medication online as many existing products are unable to fit through post boxes, causing delays and distress. The Vitamin Postal Pack eliminates this risk and therefore allows an all round positive online shopping experience.

The Horners Bottlemakers Award is run jointly by the Worshipful Company of Horners (an ancient guild and livery company of the City of London) and the Plastics Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMMDA). It is awarded annually for products demonstrating innovation in plastics design utilising blow moulding or allied processes.

Jim Dale, RPC Design Manager adds: “For such small containers, the RPC Vitamin Postal Pack range of products presented us with one of the biggest technical challenges of recent years, which has redefined what we consider to be viable in blow moulding techniques!

ImageWinning the Horners Bottlemakers Award is therefore a real testament to the efforts of several sites within the RPC Group, especially the manufacturing site at RPC Market Rasen, whose expertise and ingenuity made the pack possible”.

The Horners Award Committee was impressed by the level of entries covering   a variety of innovative products and processes.

The Horners Bottlemakers Award Judging Panel included David A Williams, Chairman of the Horners Award, Colin Richards, Master of the Horners Company, and Peter Davis, Director General of the British Plastics Federation.
