A fine example of how important it is to continue talking to your customers during these challenging times. A conversation between Steve Trainor of UK Extrusion Ltd and Surgical Dynamics in Consett, threw up a serious issue the company were experiencing in getting supplies of quality sheet PET for their Guard-Ex Face Shields.
UK Extrusion are currently installing a new PET extrusion line at TDX part of the AMB group. TDX is based in an area very close to Surgical Dynamics and they were delighted to be able to supply the required materials immediately.
Produced on TDX’s established Bandera sheet line, which is cooled by chillers from UK Extrusion’s preferred partner, IsoCool Ltd, the first 6 tonnes of sheet have already arrived with Surgical Dynamics. The additional Bandera extrusion line at TDX will be giving them an extra 10,000mt of capacity very shortly.
Surgical Dynamics target is to produce 100,000 Face Shields per week and consistent supplies of high quality PET sheet to their production lines will be crucial to this effort. Steve Trainor of UK Extrusion says “As soon as I heard of Surgical Dynamics supply issues the jigsaw pieces fell into place. I am so delighted to have been able to put them in touch with TDX. This is not the first time we have been able to match up customers with each other, but at this time it seems even more important for everyone to work together.”
Surgical Dynamics are an ISO13485 certified UK manufacturer, with extensive knowledge and experience in the development of single use variants of surgical devices.
UK Extrusion Ltd supply and support Bandera extrusion lines, manufactured for the packaging and converting industries. They are 2 times Finalists at the Plastics Industry Awards and are booked to exhibit at Interplas for the first time, this year.
