The CE marking will now be recognised until 31 December 2024

The follwing information is taken from a communication from BEIS on the 14th November 2022...

ALERT:  Important UKCA update has been announced (14th November 2023)

The CE marking will now be recognised until 31 December 2024.

Businesses will now have the flexibility to use either the CE or UKCA marking.

The U.K. government are committed to doing all we can to reduce immediate burdens and provide flexibility for industry. This includes using our post-Brexit autonomy to help businesses navigate the current global economic and supply chain challenges.

Therefore, we are offering businesses additional time to comply with product regulations. Businesses will continue to be able to use either the UKCA marking or the CE marking to place products on the market in Great Britain.

The Government will introduce legislation to allow most goods with the CE marking, and the reversed epsilon marking, to be placed on the market in Great Britain for a further two years, until 31 December 2024

In line with this, we will also:

•    allow conformity assessment activities for CE marking undertaken by the 31 December 2024 to be used by manufacturers as the basis for UKCA marking until the expiry of the certificate, or until 31 December 2027, whichever is sooner.

•    allow businesses to affix the UKCA marking, and to include importer information for products from EEA countries (and in some cases, Switzerland), via sticky label or on an accompanying document until 31 December 2027.
