UKT&I support

UK Trade & Investment offers support to British companies in their export initiatives. Each region of UKT&I has some specific schemes but there are also standardised grants for firms across all regions.
The TAP grant is available in all regions and offers financial support of up to £1,800 to UK exhibitors at international Trade Fairs. Companies wishing to seek the financial support need to be SMEs and meet the grant criteria. For more information on the TAP grant CLICK HERE
UKTI Gateway to Global Growth is a free 12 month programme for SMEs offering UK origin or high UK-added value products/services who have been exporting between 2 and 10 years. The Gateway to Global Growth programme offers a single route to a wide range of guidance and support from UKTI and others to help take your company to a new level of international success.

UKTI Passport to Export is for SMEs offering UK origin or high UK-added value products/services who are new or inexperienced exporters. The scheme, carried out over 12 months, offers one simple responsive process combining all the tools that exporting companies need to grow their business.

UKTI North West Region: Global Access Programme:
£1000 maximum funding per company for NW registered SMEs offering UK origin or high UK-added value products/services to participate in a series of overseas events. The events could be:
a) taking part in an organised trade mission (either organised by UKTI or relevant cluster organisation/trade association)
b) travel to an event where there is a UKTI organised / cluster organised presence and arranged programme of events
Each eligible market visit is assigned a grant rate.
Example:
1st event: Visit to K, Dusseldorf, October 2010 = £260 (with an additional contribution of up to £240, where agreed, for internationalisation of marketing material)
2nd event: Visit to PlastVision, Mumbai, January 2011 = £730.
The total £1000 grant is not paid until a company has taken part in qualifying activity for the value of £1000 or greater. The activities can take place either in 1 year if applicable or over a 3 year period with the final claim being made before end March 2013. A company can only have 1 GAP grant per lifetime up to end March 2013.
