Upcoming Printing Inks for Food Contact Materials Legislation

The German Printing Ink Ordinance has been notified to the Commission on the 5th July 2016.

There is planned national legislation which specifies the composition and application of printing inks for food contact materials and articles. The foreseen legislation has started a debate on inks which could result in EU legislation structuring the use of inks at EU level. As printed inks have an impact on the quality of recyclates, the topic is being closely monitored.
