1955, 55, 55, Impressions 3,2,1 with matching jacket impressions. RotK is the first state, sliptext 4. This is special set for several reasons. Its the best condition 3,2,1 set we have seen in our 20 years as a specialist Tolkien dealer.

Books read a few times with age related wear, but no, lean, no damage. The dust jackets have a few small closed tears and slight tattering to corners, but no serious damage or heavy stains. They did not intend to sell as a set at the time as it was too expensive. This is evident FotR is shorter than the other two titles (2 and 3rd printing were printed by another printer). This would have been rare, with 4,2,1 or 4,3,2 more probable.
