BPF Elects President and Vice-President 2026–2027

The British Plastics Federation is pleased to announce the outcome of its latest Council elections, confirming strong leadership continuity at a pivotal time for the industry.

At the recent BPF Council meeting President Martin Hitchin of Rehau was unanimously re-elected for a second year of office.

Martin is looking forward to presiding over an extremely busy year with the large ‘Members Day’ in Nottingham taking place on July 1st, the Council meeting at the Bank of England on July 8th, the Plastics Recycling and Sustainability (PRAS) event at the University of Shefield on July 9th , and the BPF’s Annual Dinner on October 8th, all now firmly in view.

Speaking at the Federation’s Annual General Meeting, BPF Director Philip Law welcomed Martin’s re-election and praised his insightful contributions and interventions together with his accessibility.

The same Council meeting also elected Philip Maddox, the Managing Director of Leafield Environmental, as Vice-President of the Federation for 2026-2027. It is also generally understood that Philip Maddox will be nominated for the role of BPF President when Martin Hitchin steps down from the role next May.

Philip Maddox has an honours degree in chemistry and an MBA and has previously worked for Zotefoams, the publicly quoted speciality plastics company, where he was Sales and Marketing Director for 10 years, selling into both European and Asian markets. Philip has been Managing Director of Leafield Environmental since 2011 - a leading rotational moulding company with key markets in recycling, highways, agriculture, defence and electronics. It employs 60 people in two locations, Corsham in Wiltshire and Alfreton in Derbyshire.

Philip is very experienced in the BPF including attendance at overseas trade fairs. Not only has he been a long serving member of the Council and its Strategy and Finance Committee, he is also Chairman of the BPF’s  Rotational Moulders Group.

With an ambitious programme of events ahead and a leadership team that combines continuity with extensive industry expertise, the Federation is well positioned to continue championing the interests of its members. We congratulate both Martin Hitchin and Philip Maddox on their appointments and look forward to working with them over the coming year.
